This Parota slab was harvested from the forests of Costa Rica in Central America. Parota has a slightly interlocked grain, a very coarse texture and has a moderate natural luster. Parota is streaked with honey, reddish and dark brown colors alongside clearly distinct, creamy sapwood. Due to it’s large trunk size, very large slabs of natural-edged are common and it is generally much lighter than other imported hardwoods.
