This Parota slab originates from the forests of Guatemala in Central America, which is home of some of the finest Parota in the world. Studies and analysis are conducted in conjunction with The National Forest Institute of Guatemala on each tree harvested. This ensures that there is no negative environmental impact resulting from it’s removal. Parota has a slightly interlocked grain, a very coarse texture and has a moderate natural luster. Parota is streaked with honey, reddish and dark brown colors alongside clearly distinct, creamy sapwood. Due to it’s large trunk size, very large slabs of natural-edged are common and it is generally much lighter than other imported hardwoods.
